Therapeutic massage is designed to alleviate pain and muscle tension throughout the body. This type of massage penetrates the deepest layer of muscles, fascia and tendons. The goal in deep tissue massage is to breakdown Adhesions. These build ups in the muscle are important to address because they cause pain, inflammation and limit motion of the muscles and joints.
We use mobilization of soft tissue (such as muscle, fascia and body fluids) to restore normal functional use. It can be used to assist in the treatment of most musculo-skeletal and associated problems, and regular Therapeutic Massage results in improved circulatory, lymphatic and neurological functioning.
We are a corrective massage therapy clinic specializing in pain science and sports performance. We believe in educating our patients in order to be able to maintain maximum flexibility, functional movement and pain-free living!
This treatment was created from my experience in the sports community. The goal being to address specific area of pain or decreased mobility.
Spinal decompression or traction tables have been offered by chiropractors, osteopaths and other appropriately trained health professionals for many years.
Both traction and decompression therapy are applied with the goals of relieving pain and promoting an optimal healing environment for bulging discs, degenerating discs, sciatica, muscle spasm, numbness and tingling.
Both lumbar and cervical traction available.
Cupping has amazing neuromyofascial effects. Cupping is a stimulus for the nervous system. Our bodies work by responding to stimulus or sensory input our brains receive from our surroundings. The suction effect we get from cupping isn't a common stimulus so it causes our brain to really analyze and react by changing muscle patterns.
Shock Wave Therapy uses acoustic (sound) waves that react with the tissue of the body to promote healing by breaking down scar tissue and calcium deposits, thus promoting the formation of new blood vessels and improved blood flow to the area. The therapy also stimulates the activity of bone cells and in this manner can be used to accelerate fracture healing. Due to its fast healing ability shock wave is quickly becoming extremely popular.
